The Chairman Speaks

Dear readers,
I had a dream.
A dream inspired by the thoughts of my father, the Late Sh. Radheshyam Ji Morarka. I dreamt of our children from rural areas to be as technology savvy, knowledgeable and smart as the city children. Through RRMPS, we are moving strongly in that direction.
Our class X and XII standard C.B.S.E. results have proved it time and again that children living in small towns and villages are in no way less intelligent than their counterparts living in large cities. They only need proper guidance, infrastructure where their skills can be honed and exposure to conditions that can help their talent grow.
We will continue to work relentlessly to make education at RRMPS a memorable experience for our lovely children, their parents and the academic community. Every new achievement of the school gives us more strength and zeal to move ahead with all the energy and resolve we have. There are many more milestones to be achieved in future and I am very hopeful that the school, with its brilliant students and committed teachers, will keep making us proud.
I am very happy that our school’s new website is online. I am sure, the students, their guardians, teachers, members of alumni and even common people would find its content useful. I would like to congratulate to the school and our technical team on the launch of RRMPS’ new website.
With best wishes,

Gautam R. Morarka

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
but I have promises to keep,

Leadership

MRS. SMRITI MORARKA

An entreprenuer and art lover, Mrs. Smriti Morarka, has been guiding the school to success since it was set up. She has always been a keen student of history, and in her early years was exposed to the world of art. She takes active interest in the school's functioning and activities, though by profession she is a textile revivalist, and works under the banner of TANTUVI.

Tantuvi revives Banarsi handloom sarees and ensures that the weaver as an artist preserves and revives his dying heritage. It also ensures that the aesthetically inclined buyer has an opportunity to indulge her penchant for these beautiful woven works of art. VISION AND MISSION

Our school motto “Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya (तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय)” signifies the progressive journey of the mind from darkness towards light. Edna Lyall has very rightly said: “Character is not ready-made; it is created bit by bit and day by day”. Character is the most important dimension of education which forms the very basis of our life. Emphasis is given to teaching life, loyalty, truth and honour to lead our future citizens from darkness to light – the motto which the school stands for.

VISION FOR EARLY LEARNING

True to the vision of Late Sh. R. R. Morarka, the school is providing education to the students that come from the lowest rung of our society, without any discrimination based on religion, caste or creed. Within a decade of its existence, the school has come to be recognised as a premier centre for learning and teaching, innovation and research. The Trust is earnestly busy in various programmes and schemes related to education, health and hygiene, upliftment of women and the weaker sections.

Numerous factors have played a vital role in the creation of this epitome of quality education. The vision and foresight of the pioneers; the total involvement and professional interest in the cause of education of the trust; the appointment of outstanding Principals to steer the school in the right direction; dedicated faculty and finally the meritorious and bright students. RPMPS aims at all round development of the students' personality, which reflects a synthesis of the spiritual values of the east and the scientific advancements of west.

VISION FOR THE SCHOOL

In RRMPS’s own words," The purpose, the aim and drive of the school is to equip the child with the most excellent technological proficiency so that he may function with clarity and efficiency in the modern world and, far more important, to create the right climate so that the child may develop fully as a complete human being. This means giving him the opportunity to flower in goodness so that he is rightly related to people, things and ideas, to the whole of life."

Background

R R Morarka Public School came into being as a non-profit making body providing quality education on the public school pattern to the students of a nondescript town of Bundki. The Public school is managed by R R Morarka Charitable Trust that was established in the memory of Hon’ble Late Shri Radhey Shyam Ji Morarka.
The school was founded after Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Limited established its sugar plant in Dwarikesh Nagar (Bundki). The group Managing Director and noted industrialist Sh. Gautam R. Morarka is actively engaged in social service for the last two decades, and providing quality education is one of the objectives close to his heart.
When the DSIL sugar plant started its operations in the area, Sh. Morarka decided to establish a high quality educational institution here to contribute in the development of this area. After a few months, his dream came into reality in the form of RR Morarka Public School that has become today one of the most prestigious schools in the Bijnor district.
Sh. G.R. Morarka was guided by the principles and morals his father, Late Sh. RR Morarka held in high esteem. A well known industrialist, popular parliamentarian and a great social leader, Late Sh. Morarka believed in collective development of our society and worked tirelessly throughout his life for the welfare of people living at the lowest level.
This is why many people call him the “Samaritan of the poor and the down-trodden”. He believed that development process has to begin from the grassroots level and it can be addressed in different ways, by developing educational and health facilities that benefit all.

A TRADITION, A COMMITTMENT

To let this inspiration flourish, Mr. Gautam R. Morarka had established R. R. Morarka Charitable Trust in the fond memory of his father on July 10th 1995. This became the controlling and guiding institution behind the school.
Mrs. Smriti G. Morarka, who has been a constant source of energy and vision for the Dwarikesh Group, is the Managing Trustee of the R. R. Morarka Charitable Trust. She is also the Chairperson of R. R. Morarka Public School. Mrs. Morarka has a deep interest in preservation of traditional handicrafts and runs an establishment called ‘Tantuvi’ which has received widespread appreciation for its efforts to revive the dying weaving traditions of Benares.

The school has found an enthusiastic and result-oriented young leader in the form of Ms. Priyanka Morarka, daughter of Sh. G. R. Morarka who is the Managing Director of its managing committee. An MBA by qualification, she is also a director in a group company Morarka Finance Limited.

It is pertinent to mention that R.R. Morarka Charitable Trust has also built a palatial campus in Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) for the government post graduate college there which is aptly named Sh. Radheshyam R Morarka Govt. Post Graduate College in the memory of the great personality.

Source of inspiration

Sh. R R Morarka advocated for such an industrial sector that was more socially responsible, which had a better understanding of the hard realities of our social life and was more interested then ever in the socio-economical upliftment of the people.
The R. R. Morarka Public School, was founded by noted industrialist and former Member of Parliament, Late Sh. Radhey Shyam Ramkumar Ji Morarka. A multi-faceted personality with extraordinary capabilities, Late Sh. Morarka was a visionary par excellence. He envisioned India to be an industrially and socially developed country where everybody share the fruits of success and the common man enjoys a happy, healthy and secure lifestyle. One of the prominent freedom fighters and a man of high moral values, Sh. R. R. Morarka’s strong commitment for development and concern for the lay man reflect from the projects that he undertook during his lifetime.
Apart from founding a major industrial house having a strong presence in diverse sectors, he was also instrumental in the launch of many non-profit, social organisations in areas where they were needed the most, i.e. education, health and infrastructure development. These organisations are still making significant contribution to the society. Sh. Morarka also threw his weight in the political arena to ensure that government policies are not just framed and used as an instrument of governance but are utilised to serve the society, and to transform the common man’s life.
Late Sh. R R Morarka was born on 26.03.1923 in Nawalgarh town of Rajasthan’s Shekhawati region. After completing his schooling in Nawalgarh, he went to Mumbai to undertake higher education. While still being a student of the Bombay University, he joined the freedom struggle and took part in the ‘Quit India Movement’.
Though born in a traditional business family, Sh. Morarka was more inclined to social service which led to his joining active politics. During the country’s first general elections, he contested from Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) parliamentary constituency on a Congress ticket and won. His popularity can be gauged by the fact that the people of his constituency elected him thrice in a row and he represented them till 1967. concerns are:

A Great Visionary

Following this long stretch of political activities, Sh. Morarka started taking more and more interest in serving the people at the grassroots level by founding various social service organisations. He led these organisations from front and formed a very close bond with people living under stressful conditions. This experience inspired him to direct his industrial activities in a direction where they don’t just become a way of building fortunes, but actually become beneficial to the society at large. He advocated for an industrial sector that was more socially responsible, which had a better understanding of the hard realities of our social life and was more interested then ever in the socio-economical upliftment of the people.
Late Sh. R. R. Morarka again became a Member of Parliament in 1978. This time, it was the turn of the Upper House. He remained a Rajya Sabha member till 1984. During his long stint in the parliament, he was member of many important parliamentary committees such as the ones dealing with the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 1953, Income Tax (Amendment) Bill, Life Insurance Corporation of India Bill etc. In 1964, he was entrusted with the responsibility of heading the Public Accounts Committee. He was also a member of the Estimates Committee. As a Rajya Sabha Member, Sh. Morarka was on the panel of Vice Chairman during 1979-1980. He was also a member of the Upper House’s Committee of Privilege, and the General Purpose Committee. During his long political career, Sh. R. R. Morarka represented the country on many international forums including the International Convention of Parliamentarians held at Canberra (Australia). He also headed many parliamentary delegations to different countries. Though a great personality, he believed in the principle of ‘simple living, high thinking’ and never compromised on his principles and moral values. At R. R. Morarka Public School, we derive our inspiration from the words and deeds of the great visionary and are collectively working with our parent group to make his selfless dreams come true.
